Discount mammograms and smears

We have made August 2014 Women’s Health Month at Medcare. And to mark the month our clinics in Benijofar and Alfaz del Pi are taking bookings for subsidised smears and mammograms.
All you need to do to qualify for one or both of these is to call Medcare before the end of August and book your appointment.
Mammograms will cost just €65 and smears only €30.
Our female doctor, Dr Najma Hussain, explained the reason behind the campaign: “In our experience, too many expats here in Spain are missing out on vital screening health checks as they either don’t understand the Spanish system, feel put off by language barriers or do not have access to health care.
“We don’t want any woman to miss screening tests that can and do save lives so are subsidising the cost of tests this month in the hope that more women will come forward.”
Breast and cervical cancer are two of the most common cancers in women, yet if caught early both are treatable and outcomes are generally good.
For both these cancers the only way to diagnose early is through screening, which can detect cancers long before symptoms appear.
