Updated 23 May 2018

We’ve updated our Privacy Policy in line with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

On May 25 2018 a European privacy law that restricts how personal data is collected and handled comes into force. It focuses on ensuring that users know, understand, and consent to the data collected about them.

Under this new legislation, businesses and companies must be clear and concise about their collection and use of personal data like full name, home address, location data, IP address. Companies have to spell out why the data is being collected and whether it will be used to create profiles of people’s actions and habits. Moreover, consumers will gain the right to access data companies store about them, the right to correct inaccurate information.

The law protects individuals in the 28 member countries of the European Union, even if the data is processed elsewhere

At Medcare we have updated our privacy policy to provide you with more information on how we protect your privacy, including information on how to exercise your rights to your data. We use the information we hold to improve the services we offer. The more we know about our patients, the more we can improve our services and the better able we are to provide you with treatments, services and relevant news. We won’t share your information for marketing purposes unless you give us permission to do so.

However, it is very important for our patients to realise that in order to conduct medical procedures or consultations correctly, we require your basic personal contact information (such as email address and phone number). Your email address is used to send you important test results, x-ray results, reports and findings etc. Also, Medcare clinicians will need this to share medical information with hospitals. Having the correct contact information facilitates the entire clinical process.

If you’d like to understand more about what sort of information we may hold and how we use it, then the Privacy Policy is a great place to start. If you have any further questions about the policy and your rights, or would like to ask us to stop using your data, please contact us.

If you’re still happy to hear from us about events, promotions, important health checks and new beauty treatments, you don’t need to do anything. You can update us on what emails you’d like to receive or unsubscribe any time.
