So what happens in psychotherapy?
We will meet initially for 1 – 2 hours to get to know each other and to discuss your situation and understand what you are looking for from the therapy.
At the end of this gratis initial meeting, we will make a mutual decision on whether to work together. Beyond this regular weekly psychotherapy is undertaken as a confidential, co-operative venture between you and our therapist, using straight-forward language.
With respect and understanding, together we can develop a secure, working relationship, exploring your issues at a pace that is healthy for you. We will identify, explore, understand and eliminate barriers to your happiness and fulfilment.
We will work to build a strong sense of who you really are and strengthen your capacity to form healthy, sustaining relationships. Both are essential to managing the stresses that life can bring, even here on the Costa Blanca.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is classically defined as “the talking cure” and this is essentially what we will bring you by working together. Weekly sessions last for 50 minutes, frequency may be increased during testing periods to provide you with additional support.
At the outset we will ensure our expectations are compatible and realistic, and then again at regular intervals throughout the therapy as we review progress. The intention is to get the earliest possible improvement for you. Entering into psychotherapy typically means a commitment of between 12 months to 3 years to see real and lasting benefits.
Our work each week explores conscious thoughts and memories of your current and past life linking these with appropriate feeling states gradually bringing forward unconscious or forgotten memories and associated feelings. It is in this way that we reduce and remove the powers that have had a negative impact and influence on your life.
Life Coaching
Lost direction? Feel your life is in a rut? Spend all your time on the daily routine of life? Feel creativity and spontaneity is something for others?
Life coaching can help you to get back in control and start going forward. In just a few sessions you can understand where you got lost, rediscover your sense of purpose and what is really important for you, and then make a plan to achieve success.
Relationship counselling
If you feel that your relationship is no longer a positive, mutually-beneficial undertaking, and is actually under threat we can assist both of you to make it work and get your relationship going forward once again. Work is most valuable when both partners jointly and freely enter into it. Support is available to develop a plan to make life rewarding for both of you, whichever path you subsequently choose to follow.
