prp and dermapen offer

PRP and dermapen – the perfect partnership…

In our skin rejuvenation clinic we offer free skin analysis and advice on which of our treatments, or combination of treatments, will be best for you.

Two treatments that often go well together are Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP), otherwise known as Dracula Therapy or Vampire Facelift , and dermapen microneedling.

Both these treatments are what we call regenerative treatments. Instead of artificially plumping or smoothing the skin with temporary substances, they prompt the skin to repair itself; old or damaged tissue is restored on a cellular level – giving a smoother, more refined skin surface, greater elasticity, plumpness and a reduction in fine lines and other imperfections.

Regenerative treatments are proving very popular with our patients, who are increasingly opting for more natural repairing treatments.

Dermapen

Dermapen uses tiny needles to puncture the skin, which activates the skin’s own repair mechanism, stimulating collagen production. This means –

  • fine lines and wrinkles are minimised
  • scars, including acne scars, are improved
  • skin looks fresher and younger

PRP

PRP Therapy works by harnessing the healing properties of platelet growth factors in the blood, effectively using the patient’s own blood to boost the creation of new collagen.

During PRP Therapy a small amount of blood is taken from the arm and spun to separate it into red cells, white cells and platelets. The red and white cells are discarded and the plasma-rich platelets injected into the face, neck and décolletage.

The platelets help rebuild and repair damaged and aged skin cells and stimulate collagen, the protein that gives skin youthful firmness and strength.

PRP and dermapen combo

While both therapies can make a significant difference on their own, in some patients using them in combination can give very powerful anti-ageing, skin restoring results.

The treatments complement each other and the regenerative effect can be enhanced by combining the two.

This gives a kind of anti-ageing double whammy as both the microneedling action and the platelets stimulate collagen and skin repair.
