What is minor surgery?
Medcare’s GP and cosmetic surgeon perform minor surgical procedures at our clinics. Generally, minor surgery falls into two distinct groups. These are;
- Cutting procedures – such as excision followed by suturing
- Injections – into joints, muscles, varicose veins, and piles
Common enquiries for minor surgery could be;
- Skin tags
- Skin cysts
- Incision and drainage of an abscess
- Warts
- Mole removal
- Biopsy of growths
- Verrucae’s
- Joint injections
Medcare’s GP can carry out numerous procedures include mole and skin tag removals and thread vein treatment. Also, patients may need a long lasting pain injection into joints, such as cortisone into the knee.
Day procedures, such as skin cancer removal and varicose vein treatment, are carried out by our cosmetic surgeon in Alicante.
Often Medcare’s nurse will assist or perform injections. You can see more information about Nursing services at Medcare here.
