Laser resurfacing is an effective method of minimising fine wrinkles and uneven pigmentation; generally improving the appearance, tone and texture of the skin. It is particularly useful for treating sun-damaged skin.
During the process, a laser is used to remove surface layers of damaged and wrinkled skin, allowing new, smoother skin to form.
Laser resurfacing is usually carried out with a local anaesthetic cream or injections. After treatment, the skin will be slightly inflamed. Healing takes seven to ten days.
