What is Botox?

Botox is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

How does Botox work?

When muscles contract they crease the skin, which over time causes wrinkles to form. Botox works by blocking nerve impulses and temporarily paralysing muscles so that the wrinkles are smoothed.

Where can Botox be used?

Botox is particularly effective for smoothing out frown lines and crows feet, giving the face a fresher, younger and more relaxed appearance.

Is Botox safe?

Botox has been in use for many years and in the right hands is a safe, simple procedure.

How long does it take?

Treatment takes around 20 minutes and there is no healing time. No one will even notice you have had it done – all the will notice is how good you look as wrinkles smooth and fade away in two to three days following treatment.

Can Botox be used on all wrinkles?
